
PUBLIC EVENTS BOARD
The Public Events Board maintains responsibility for organising public debates and events at the UDS.
Elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) each spring, all members contribute to a specific facet of the running of the society and are dedicated to the continued success of the society as a whole.
All of our committee members are available to contact via email for information about the society or their various positions.
Chair of Ways and Means
Emiliana Wood
The Chair of Ways and Means is the Chair of the public event board and is responsible for organising our public debates and events.
The current Chair of Ways and Means is Emiliana Wood, a fourth year reading Economics and Social Anthropology.

STEWARD TO THE HOUSE (SOCIALS)
James Langmead
The Steward is responsible for the social life of the society. They plan numerous events and dinners throughout the year and serve drinks before Public Debates each week.
The current Steward to the House is James, a 3rd year reading History.

The Speakers Secretary is responsible for helping the Chair to plan Public Debates.

SERGEANT-AT-ARMS
Ramsay Bader
The Serjeant-at-Arms sits to the Convenor’s right during formal debates and is charged with their safety and well-being. They are ably equipped for this, armed with the Union Debating Society’s sword, Bessie. They are also responsible for alumni relations and the society’s clothing orders.
The current Sergeant is Ramsay Bader.
